We'll be doing a quick rundown of the top 10 right-backs in the world based on current form... Stay glued👌

NOTABLE MENTIONS

Dani alves (Sao Paulo)

Brazilian legend "Dani alves" would probably have made our top 5 if he still played in one of Europe's top leagues. The most decorated footballer on the planet still reports for national team duty with Brazil, and is not just there as a squad player, as he currently captains the Selecao.

The 37 year old who is still as agile as ever on the football field, has shown us down the years that age is just a number.

Hats off 🎩 legend!

Joshua kimmich (Bayern munich)

Kimmich would have made the list of top three right backs in the world, any day and any time. but, the German born player has barely played at right back this season, as he has slotted in midfield for the Bavarians, where he has been doing more than a decent job.

Even if kimmich is restored to his original right back role today, the 25 year old would still undoubtedly out-perform many rightbacks in the world.

TOP 10

10) Nelson Semedo (Barcelona)

Semedo has been one of the few signings Barcelona has gotten right in recent seasons after spending heavily on recruitments that have mostly failed to live up to their billing.

The 26 year old right back who was snapped up from Benfica in the summer of 2017 for a €35 million transfer fee, has been a main stay in Barcelona's Xi, and has largely occupied the right back role held by Sergio Roberto prior to his arrival.

Semedo has been one of the few consistent performers for Barcelona this season, as the Catalans has so far failed to impress.

9) Kylie Walker(Manchester city)

Once the best right back in the premier league, the England international seemed to have let his standards slip a bit in recent seasons, but has still done enough this season to make our list.

The 29 year old who can also play as part of a three-man defence, was expected to be the fall guy in Pep Guardiola's starting Xi when the arrival of Portuguese right back "Joao Cancelo" was announced in the summer of 2019. But, the ex-Tottenham fullback has easily won that battle as Cancelo has been confined to the bench whenever Walker has been fit to play.

Form is temporary, but class is permanent!

8) Thomas Meunier (Borussia Dortmund)

Thomas Meunier has been one of the best goal scoring right backs in recent seasons, and PSG would certainly feel gutted that the Belgian decided not to extend his stay in France.

The 28 year old who recently announced that he has joined Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer, will easily slot in for the departing "Archaf Hakimi" who is on the verge of completing a €40 million deal to Inter milan.

Borussia Dortmund will be laughing at PSG as the Bundesliga giants has gotten themselves a nice deal for such a quality right back.

7) Benjamin Pavard(Bayern munich)

Ever wondered who has been Bayern munich's right back since kimmich was moved to the heart of midfield? Well, you have your answer, because "Benjamin Pavard" is that man. The 2018 world cup winner was snapped up by the capital club in the summer of 2019 after his fine performances for club and country.

The 24 year old defender has almost effortlessly slotted in at right back, for Bayern Munich making 46 appearances in total, while his 4 goals and 7 assists are decent numbers from his primary defensive role.

6) Juan Cuadrado (Juventus)

Cuadrado is having a very good season in Turin, considering the fact that the Colombian winger has been played out of position for most part of the season.

The ex-Chelsea speedster who is surprisingly ahead of Brazilian fullback "Danilo" in the pecking order at Juventus this season, has been one of the first names on Maurizio Sarri's starting Xi.

The 32 year old has mixed his fine attacking flair with a solid defensive showings at the back. Cuadrado has also chipped in with 3 goals and 7 assists in 42 appearances this season.

5) Reece James(Chelsea)

Youngster " Reece James" has shown promise at right back this season in Frank lampard's relatively young and inexperienced squad.

The Chelsea academy product was given an opportunity earlier this season and the English born defender has definitely grabbed his opportunity with both hands, cementing his position as Chelsea's first choice right back for most of the campaign. And given his young age, it would be interesting to see if Frank lampard would want to sign another full back to compete with the 20year old.

4) Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid)

It hard to compile a list of right-backs without mentioning the Spanish defender. The 28 year old is one of the best in the business, and has earned his reputation as the best right back in la liga after scintillating performances for Real Madrid and the Spanish national team.

Carvajal has also been one of the driving force behind Real Madrid's incredible la liga triumph this season and was deservedly named in the la liga team of the season.

The 28 year old would be looking to play his part when the Capital club continue their champions league quest.

2) Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester united)

Modern right backs are known for there offensive prowess, with only a selective few being sound defensively, but you cannot say that about Aaron Wan Bissaka. The €50 million summer signing from Crystal palace thrives in his primary role as a defender rather than a role as an offensive right back.

The England international is probably the last of a dying breed of right backs who can lay claim to solidifying their defensive line instead of weakening it. The 22 year old has won more tackles than any other player across Europe and is the best defensive right back in the world(no debates).

Wan Bissaka surely has alot of work to do offensively, but in due time.. improvements will come.

2) Archaf Hakimi (Borussia Dortmund)

Even a signing as solid as "Thomas Meunier" might not be able to replicate the Moroccan performances for Borussia Dortmund this season.

Hakimi who is on the verge of completing a big money move to Inter milan joined Dortmund on a two year loan deal from Real Madrid in 2018, and has since then established himself as one of the most effective right backs in the Bundesliga and in the world.

The 21 year old has a contribution of 9 goals and 10 assists this season.. Making him the right back with the highest goal contribution in Europe top 5 leagues.

1) Alexander Arnold (Liverpool)

Arnold is by a mile the best right back in the world, the 21 year old is truly blessed with talents that can only be God-given.

Arnold has built on last season's promise to win over the hearts of footballing fans all over the world, the right back was so integral to Liverpool's title winning campaign that he was being tipped by some for the PFA player of the year award.

4 goals and 13 assists in the premier league are huge numbers for a right back who has also scored stupendously taken freekicks this season.

Alexander Arnold is destined to play in midfield sometime in the future as the 21 year old talents suggests.
