Premier League

Here are 2 ways Chelsea could lineup with 3 attackers without Lukaku and Werner on Saturday.

Chelsea will return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon following their Champions League victory over Malmo in midweek. The Premier League giants had a great game against the Swedish club at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night as they comfortably defeated them with four goals to nothing on the night.

However, unfortunately for the Blues, two of their strikers in Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner limped out of the pitch in the first half of the game through injuries. And after the game, Tuchel reportedly revealed that the two strikers could be out of action for some weeks. This means that Chelsea will be without the two of them this weekend.

Nonetheless, Kai Havertz and Hudson-Odoi replaced the two strikers following their injuries in the first half, and they took their chances very well as Hudson-Odoi provided an assist for Havertz to score the third goal of the game. And as Lukaku and Werner are injured, Tuchel is likely to utilize 3 attackers instead of 2 strikers, and we have suggested the two ways Tuchel could lineup his team this weekend when they face Norwich at Stamford.

Below are the two ways Chelsea could line up to face Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

1. Formation: 3-4-3.

Mendy; Rudiger, Christensen, Azpilicueta; Ben Chilwell, Jorginho, Kante, Reece James; Hudson-Odoi, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount.

Substitutes.

Kepa, Bettinelli; Chalobah, Sarr, Alonso; Barkley, Kovacic, Saul, Loftus-Cheek; Ziyech.

Hudson-Odoi and Mason Mount to partner with Kai Havertz as the front 3 would make the Chelsea attack more creative and aggressive.

2. Formation: 3-4-3.

Thiago Silva could be rested on Saturday after playing full-time on Wednesday night.

Mendy; Rudiger, Christensen, Azpilicueta; Ben Chilwell, Kovacic, Kante, Reece James; Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech.

Substitutes.

Kepa, Bettinelli; Chalobah, Sarr, Alonso; Barkley, Jorginho, Saul, Loftus-Cheek; Hudson-Odoi.

Hakim Ziyech is also available for selection, and his partnership with Mason Mount and Kai Havertz in attack would also be a very good option for Tuchel with Kovacic partnering Kante in midfield.
