Arteta Gives Update on Ozil, Guendouzi and Aubamenyang Ahead of Manchester's City Clash

Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta, in a press conference ahead of Manchester City's clash has spoke extensively about his team in general and how they are preparing for the clash later today. These are important points from his interview.

Ozil and Guendouzi

Mesut Ozil has been left out of Arteta's team since the club came back from the break without any serious reasons. This surprised the fans as he practically featured in almost every game under Arteta. Guendouzi on the other hand has been left out of the game since his drama against Brighton. The young midfielder in an emotional response to Maupay's foul on Leno held him by neck at the end of the match. He has been kept out of the squad for the indiscipline since then. Arteta commenting on how both feel for not being in the team said he only picks the team based on quality and he tries to put the best team on the field. He said there are no other reasons why they are not playing and it's purely tactical.

There have been rumors that the Gabonese striker might be leaving after his contract ends this summer. However, Arteta disclosed during his interview that the team captain is happy with the club and contrary to indications might be staying on. He said he speaks to him frequently and looking at the way her trains, he's certain he's happy. Aubamenyang has been linked by sports media to a move to Spanish giants, Barcelona.

On Manchester City's match

Arteta said the win against Liverpool is giving the team positive vibes for the clash against Manchester City. Manchester City has won the last seven fixtures between the two and won't be an easy game for the Gunners, however, the manager said it's the FA cup and Arsenal is a specialist when it comes to the competition. He said his team will try and capitalize on the weakness of Manchester City and play to limit their strengths.
