Plumptre: "I Learned How Not To Dance At Super Falcons Camp"

Super Falcons defender,  Ashleigh Plumptre, is grateful for an eventful week with Super Falcons at their Vienna, Austria camp, where she claims to have learned football, culture and not how to dance .

The Leicester City defender who is one of Coach Randy Waldrum's additions to the team, preparatory to Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament holding in Lagos in September, expressed her excitement in a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday.

"So grateful to have spent the past week in Austria with the Nigeria Women’s National Team (learning all things football, culture and how not to dance," stated the lively Ashleigh, who wowed everyone with her dance steps during her Super Falcons induction at the team's camp in Vienna.

The 23-year-old is one-quarter Nigerian and qualifies to play for the African giant through her paternal grandfather. Having earlier expressed an interest in representing Nigeria at senior level in June 2021, Ashleigh received her first call-up for an eight-day training camp held in Austria the following month.

She represented England at U15, U17, U19 and U23 before switching allegiance to Nigeria. She has been warmly received by her new Nigeria team-mates, and is extremely happy to have made the decision.

Ashleigh spent her youth career at Asfordby Amateurs, Leicester City, Birmingham City and Derby County before signing her first senior contract with Notts County. She joined LA Galaxy OC in 2019 before teaming up with Leicester City Current Club the following year.
