Premier League

Identifying Chelsea's worst performance of the season so far in the Premier League.

Chelsea Football Club of England occupies the top spot in the English Premier table with 25 points from ten matches played so far, with 3 points ahead of Liverpool and 5 points ahead of Manchester City. They have won eight of their 2021/2022 Premier League matches, drawn one and lost just one as well. Chelsea boast of the best defensive record in the so far in the EPL this season having conceded only three goals and have scored 26 goals, with a goal difference of +23 goals.

Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea have displayed some solid performances this season to remain top of the League standing. However, out of all the matches they have played so far this season, their worst performance was in their 1:0 defeat at home to defending Champions Manchester City on September 25. In the match, not only were Chelsea beaten but they were totally outclassed by the Citizens. The Blues could not register a single shot on target against a team they beat three times in a row last season. The display against City was very disappointing and a source of worry to fans. We can recall that with ten men against Liverpool at Anfield, they got a draw but could not hold their heads high against Manchester City at their home ground. Perhaps, it was their bad day but their performance was below par and must not be repeated again.

Therefore, for Chelsea FC to maintain the top spot in the league and possibly win the Premier League under Thomas Tuchel, they must always put up their best performance against any team they face. They must play every match with Champion's mentality and ensure they come out with positive result.

Chelsea's next league match is against Burnley on Saturday by 03:00 PM GMT. They will hope to secure all three points their visitors to solidify their place in the top of the League.
