La Liga

Umar Sadiq: The Big Game Player

It has been an eventful season so far for Almeria in the Spanish Segunda Liga. The player who is the key figure is 24-year-old striker Umar Sadiq.

The Nigerian has become somewhat of a big game player, scoring key goals for the club. Umar is a very talented player. Commonly known as 'the Nigerian Ibrahimovic' the Almeria forward has the technical ability to play at the highest level.

The career of the former Rangers and Partizan Belgrade man keeps bloosoming everyday with his deliveries.

Last season, the lanky forward delivered 20 goals for Almeria in 40 matches as the club narrow missed promotion to La Liga by whiskers. He already has seven so far this term.

Standing at 6'4″ Sadiq certainly doesn't conform to the typical target man stereotypes. The Nigerian is a very fast player who possess great dribbling ability to get past defence's and most importantly he is a lethal finisher. Add this to his great ability in the air and you have a scarily good centre forward who would be a valuable asset to many sides across Europe's biggest leagues.

He holds the ball very well and brings his teammates into play during build ups. It's a surprise that he hasn't been capped at international level by Nigeria.

Almeria might be topping the La Liga 2 table but they are still regarded as dark horses and for very good reasons. But with Umar in their squad they will definitely make a lasting impression.

If we do see the former AS Roma attacker playing to the best of his ability then there is no doubt that the big clubs will be battling it out to gain the services of the forward. This obviously isn't for certain but one thing that is that Jololo is a huge talent who still at such a young age is already a hero to the supporters of Rojiblancos La Unión.
