Yeaterday, Portugal were in a European Qualifying match with Serbia. Portugal had the early lead via a goal from Liverpool's forward Diogo Jota who netted twice in the first half giving the Portuguese a first half win.
Second half goals from Serbia drew the game level on a 2-2 scoreline as the game looked though like it will end in a draw, even after Serbian defender Mitrovic received a red card late on in the game.
Portugal Captain Ronaldo thought he had scored after heading into an open net only for a Serbian defender to race back and clear the ball even though it looked like it already crossed the line.
With no VAR present at the Red light Stadium, it was up to the officials to wave away the goal, and that made Ronaldo angry and protesting, but he just received a yellow card Instead.
Ronaldo stormed off the pitch even when the game was was remaining few seconds untill full time, angrily trowing his captain arm band on the ground.
After the game, Ronaldo posted on his Instagram page that; Being Captain of the Portuguese National team is one of the greatest honors and previledges of his life.
"I give and I will always give my all for my country, that will never change" Ronaldo said.
"But there are difficult moments to cope with especially when we feel like an entire Nation is being harmed. Heads up and face the next challenge! Come on Portugal!
Ronaldo has now gone 4 matches for Portugal without a goal as he still wants to break the record of the highest goalscorer in the National level as well.
