Has Chelsea Made Another Mistake In The Transfer Market, With This Player?

Chelsea are prone to making the mistakes of letting players, who later turns out to becomes stars leave the club.

We have seen it happen several times, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Mohammed Salah, Kelvin De Brunye, Nathan Ake, Thorgan Hazard, Boga and many other young stars.

Although Chelsea has been wise in recruiting young talents, but are poor in integrating them into their first team, after they loan them out a couple of times, they finally sell them off, which they will later become top players.

In this summer transfer window, Chelsea has been wise by bringing in two high profile signings, in the shape of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner for bargain prices, but were poor to allow Mario Pasalic leave the club permanently.

As a 19 year old boy, On 9 July 2014, Chelsea announced the signing of Pasalic for a reported fee of £3 million.

After several loans to Elche, Monaco, A.C Milan, Spartak Moscow and Atalanta, Chelsea finally sold him permanently to Atalanta this summer, as Atalanta utilized the clause on the loan deal, to sign him permanently for a transfer fee of €15 million.

Pasalic has been on a great form for Atalanta this season, and is on a part of becoming a world class player, as he has scored 11 goals and provided 7 assists across all competition for Atalanta this season. He recently scored a hat-trick in Atalanta's 6–2 over Brescia

None of the current Chelsea midfielders has scored up to that this season, except Willian who matches the 11 goals.

Only Willian and Pulisic has more assists than Mario Pasalic this season, in the Chelsea squad.

Mario Pasalic is a highly talented and creative player, who is known for his outstanding technique, vision, acceleration, close control, and quick footwork.

He is also a powerful striker of the ball, as well as being an accurate passer and crosser with his excellent left foot, which enables him to create chances for teammates after winning back possession.

His tactical intelligence, awareness, combined with his speed, energy, tackling, vision, and dribbling ability, allowed him to start counter-attacks after winning back possession and also enables him to carry the ball forward, make attacking runs, and contribute to his team's offensive play by linking up the defence and the attack effectively.

His versatility and wide range of skills, thus enables him to play anywhere across the midfield, either as a central midfielder, an attacking midfieder behind the striker or even from the wings.

Chelsea might have allowed another talent slipped through their hands.

Do you think Chelsea should have keep Mario Pasalic in the squad for next season? Instead of selling him permanently to Atalanta?
