Man Utd's Top Highest Scorers in European Competitions: Can Rashford Overtake Rooney?

Manchester United academy graduate, Marcus Rashford scored another goal in European competition for Manchester United in the 4-1 win against Real Betis in mid-week. This took the 25-year-old to 24 goals for the Red Devils in Europe. He has now entered the top seven. The Manchester United star is level with Manchester United legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, who also scored 24 goals for the Red Devils in European competitions.

Marcus Rashford would have his eye on breaking the all-time record, which is held by Wayne Rooney in the nearest future. The Manchester United all-time highest goalscorer scored 39 goals for the Red Devils in European competitions before leaving the club for Everton and eventually retiring.

Marcus Rashford would however have to surpass the likes of Paul Scholes, who scored 26 European goals for the Red Devils, Denis Law with 28 European goals for the Red Devils, record appearance maker, Ryan Giggs, who has 29 goals in European competitions, and Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who scored 38 goals for Manchester United in European competitions.

The 25-year-old stands a good chance of surpassing Wayne Rooney in the next few seasons if he can carry his current form into the next two or three seasons.
