ATM VS LIV: Worst Red Card Decision Against Diego Simeone's Team, Atletico Madrid, In This Season UCL

The VAR decision to issue Antonio Griezmann a straight Red Card in the second half of the game have been criticised due to the circumstances surrounding the foul.

It was an entertaining 90 minutes match between the two teams who showed class from the 1st minute of the game to the end. Jurgen Klopp started the match with his Strongest team with the likes of Mane, Salah and Firmino leading the attack.

Milner gave Liverpool the lead in the 8th minutes of the game through a deflected shot that was played by Mohamed Salah. It was a good first 20 minutes performance from the Reds who doubled the lead the 13th minutes of the game through Nabi Keita.

Atletico Madrid became more offensive with brilliant counter attacks with the likes of Griezmann and Jao Felix.

Diego Simeone's boys came back stronger immediately after they conceded the first goal. Griezmann scored Atletico Madrid's first goal in the 20th minutes of the game.

The Spanish International scored the equalizing goal for Atletico Madrid in the 34th minutes after converting a brilliant pass from Jao Felix.

Atletico Madrid could have scored the 3rs goal of the match but brilliant saves from Alison Becker prevented Griezmann from getting his Hat Trick. Good come back from Atletico balanced the first half score line.

Atletico Madrid was unlucky to have their best player sent off after a foul on Firmino. The French International was shown a straight Red Card after raising his boot above his shoulder.

The Referee and the VAR were wrong to give Griezmann a straight Red card because a similar incident happened in the world cup qualifying match between England and Hungary.

England and Manchester United star Luke Shaw was also involved in a similar incident in the match against Hungary. The highly rated defender was shown a yellow card for the foul.

There is much similarity in the incident but a different punishment to the offense. Mohamed Salah's last penalty goal sealed the victory for Liverpool who now have 6 points in the group.

Salah remains one of the best players in the world this season with his performance both in league and Europe competition.

Do you think the VAR was right with the Red Card decision?
