Premier League Clubs' Total Transfer Spending as UK Government Orders Them To Halt All Transfers

Premier League clubs' total transfer Spending as UK Government orders them to halt all transfers

Government orders Premier League clubs to halt transfers and bail out struggling sides.

According to the UK Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden on Tuesday in a interview with BBC said that billionaire Premier League clubs need to divert cash away from 'new strikers' to bail out smaller football clubs on the brink due to coronavirus pandemic.

League One and League Two clubs, like Sunderland, could be facing a struggle to survive.

Chelsea are the highest transfer spenders this season, spending a mouth-watering £223million, which is more than twice what the reigning champions Liverpool spent.

The Blues signed eight players including Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwel, Thiago Silva and others and still not yet satisfied.

They are linked heavily with West Ham Declan Rice and hoping to land the 21-year-old.
