In-form Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Sadiq Umar continues his impressive goal scoring form for Almeria football club on Monday night, as he netted another goal in their 2-1 away victory against Girona football club, to become the Spanish Laliga SmartBank League's current highest goal scorer.
The former AS Roma football club of Italy star has been exceptional for the Spanish club-side since joining them from Partizan Belgrade football club of Serbia last season, and he was able to impress for the club again on Monday night.
Sadiq Umar was signed for the region of £5 million by Almeria football club, and he has been able to cement his spot in the team's first eleven ever since then.
The Nigerian international netted the total number of 23 goals in all competitions for Almeria football club last season despite the fact that he joined them in October, and that helped them to finish at the 5th spot of the Spanish Laliga SmartBank, and they narrowly missed out in gaining promotion from Spanish Laliga SmartBank to Spanish Laliga Santander, after losing their game during the qualifiers.
Sadiq Umar has also started from where he stopped last season, and he has already scored the total number of 6 goals and two assists in 8 appearances for the club in the Spanish Laliga SmartBank.
Prior to Monday's game, Sadiq Umar has scored 5 goals and an assist this season, but a goal and an assist in Almeria's 2-1 away victory over Girona football club has now taken his total goals of the season to 6, and that means he is currently the League's highest goal scorer.
After playing out a goalless draw in the first half, Nigerian Sadiq Umar opened scoring for the away team in the 52nd minutes, and Bernando equalized for the home team in the 61st minutes, before Lucas Robertone scored the winning goal for the away team in the 68th minutes through an assist from Sadiq Umar to end the match 2-1.
