Opinion: it is only a matter of time, PL defenders will silence Ronaldo and United might struggle

Can Manchester United win without Ronaldo again? That could be the question in the mind of most United fans who have witnessed their team being beaten twice in just a week. It started with Young Boys last week when United suffered a 2-1 loss in the UCL, after securing a hard fought victory against West Ham United on Sunday, United were beaten again yesterday in the Carabao cup against David Moyes men.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United, he has scored at least a goal in each of the games he has started in, and he has never been part of their defeats as long as he is on the pitch. Against Young Boys in the Champions League, United were still playing a draw before Ronaldo was substituted, unfortunately, it was Jesse Lingard who was sent on for him that caused his side the game. Against West ham United yesterday, the Portuguese striker was rested, which means he was unable to safe his side from being dumped out of the league cup. The question is for how long can Ronaldo keep shinning and help United?

The feelings among most United fans now is that without Ronaldo and Fernandes, it is almost possible for the club to win a football match. In truth, Cristiano Ronaldo is a quality player who has proven himself in different places across the World, and he has hit the ground running since he rejoined United, but that rich vein of form might not last in the Premier League which could mean the Old Trafford club might struggle.

Ronaldo scored twice against Newcastle United on his second debut and also net another one against West ham United on Sunday, however, his two goals against Newcastle were goalkeeper mistakes while his effort against David Moyes men is also a tap in. In my opinion, Ronaldo cannot keep scoring every single match because it is only a matter of time before Premier League defenders master his game and start keeping him at Bay. If Ronaldo stop scoring goals, what will happen to United?

When you have a player of Ronaldo's quality, and you build the team around him, it is not a bad idea at all, but not having an alternative or plan B could be dangerous for the team, as such we believe that should Ronaldo failed to deliver in any game, it could mean United might struggle in front of goal which could eventually derail their season.
