Last night game against Juventus football club of Italy exposed the weaknesses of both Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz as weak wingers, as the duo were not decisive and skillful enough to enforce havoc on the Juventus' defenders nor capable of creating chances and assists for Romelu Lukaku to score.
But one Chelsea player that performed skillfully, and made decisive passes towards the front-line was only Mateo Kovacic. But he was unable to make more impact upfront as he was only a midfielder. And most passes he made towards Ziyech and Kai Havertz were rarely utilized by the duo. I believe Kovacic would have influence in the upfront as a backup winger for Chelsea football club, until the return of Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic.
The Croatian midfielder has proven that he is an offensive player who loves pushing for goals by creating chances with skilful dribbles and decisive passes towards the front-line. And with Lukaku upfront as the striker, Kovacic will no doubt create many assists for Lukaku as a winger.
Tuchel should consider converting Kovacic into a winger to fill the void left by Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount until both wingers return from injury, while Loftus-Cheek, Barkley, Jorginho, Kante and Niguez will be on the midfield position.
