'Roma has no depth' - José Mourinho says

Roma boss José Mourinho is not happy with his side lack of depth and confirmed it during his press conference after the match against Juventus.

The Stadio Olimpico side was defeated 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday, and now sit fourth, nine points behind leaders Napoli.

So far this campaign, the Giallorossi have won five games and suffered three defeats, with two of the losses coming in big games against Lazio and the Bianconeri.

José's reply was clear when asked about his substitution during the match against Juventus.

Mourinho said: “There are benches and benches in Serie A. We played with Karsdorp who had been a doubt until the last moment and then we had Reynolds, Kumbulla and Calafiori.”

During the press conference, the Portuguese tactician expressed his disappointment regarding the team’s depth.

Roma invested €97.7m for the purchases of new signings and were the highest spenders in the Italian top flight Championship 

They bought Tammy Abraham for €40m, Eldor Shomurodov €17.5m, Matías Viña €13m and Rui Patrício €11.5. 

In addition, they made Bryan Reynolds and Roger Ibanez' moves permanent for €6.7m and €9m respectively.
