Ever since Hector Bellerin recovered from his Cruciate Ligament Rupture, he hasn't been the same player he was before his injury. There have been a decline in his pace, attacking prowess and his defensive ability. His decline made many fans conclude that he is no longer the quality Arsenal need.
According to reports, the Spanish defender wanted leaving the club last summer, but Arteta able to convince him to stay for one more season. A good number of clubs have inquired about the possibility of signing the 26 years old this summer, but the fee being quoted by Arsenal may be a stumbling block to any potential transfer. Reports have it Atlético Madrid are the latest club to declare interest in the player, and if everything should go as expected, he will surely leave the club in the summer.
A replacement will surely be needed as the club do not see Cedric as first choice. Barcelona's Emerson Royal, Brighton's Lamptey and Norwich Max Aaron have all been linked to the club but no official bid have been lodged.
Still on the Right Back position, I feel Arsenal should sign Wolfsburg's Right Back, Ridle Baku. In my opinion, the 23 years old is a perfect fit for the club because of the way he executes his offensive and defensive duties.
For the 2020/2021 season, he made 34 league appearances for Wolfsburg, scoring 6 goals and making a total of 8 assist. As a Right Back, he likes tackling and loves making ball interceptions, but one major weakness to his game is Aerial duels. He is currently representing Germany in the 2021 U-21 Euros where he is now the player with the most assists (3) in the competition.
With a market value of just €22 million, it will be a nice deal for Arsenal. Arteta should sign him before another club does.
