After missing out on European football, the gunners will look to continue their rebuilding process in a bid to compete and get back to European football next season. While the fans are still waiting for the Arsenal to sign a player this summer, sports outlets have linked a good number of players (in different positions) to the club this summer.
We will be looking at 28 players who have been with a possible move to the Emirates this summer.
After the loan contract of Mat Ryan ended in June, signing a second choice goalkeeper will be of utmost importance for the club. Also, with reports suggesting that Bernd Leno may leave the club this summer due to lack of European football, a replacement will definitely be needed. For this role, the following players have been linked to the club.
1. Onana - Ajax
2. Mat Ryan- Brighton
3. Ramsdale- Sheffield United
The exit of David Luiz has left a big hole which needs to be filled at the club. Reports have it that Arteta wants a defender who has similar ball playing qualities as the Brazilian defender. It was initially thought that William Saliba will finally get his chance, but it seems the coach is not yet convinced about his abilities. For this role, the players linked are as follows;
1. Tapsoba- Bayer Leverkusen
2. Kounde- Sevilla
3. Ben White- Brighton
4. Joachim Anderson- Lyon
The future of Hector Bellerin is still in doubt, as reliable sources have reported that he wants a new challenge after spending up to 7 years at the club. Even though Chambers has proven to be able to cover that position, signing a new right-back will be a top priority. So far, the following players have been linked;
1. Max Aarons- Norwich
2. Celik- Lille
3. Hakimi- Inter Milan
4. Tyler Adams - RB Leipzig
5. Anderson- Grêmio
Even with the exit of Dani Ceballos and also the potential exit of Lucas Torriera, Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka, signing a new midfielder with ball progression will be a priority. The following midfielders have been linked so far;
1. Ruben Neves - Wolves
2. Locatelli- Sassuolo
3. Yves Bissouma - Brighton
4. Lokonga - Anderlecht
One can attest to the fact that not signing a defensive cover for Tierney in January, contributed to Arsenal struggle last season. This is because when the Scotland international was sidelined, Xhaka was placed in his role, and this disrupted our set-up. A new left-back will be sign, and so far, these players have been linked;
1. Nuno Tavares- Benfica
2. Betrand - Free agent
3. Josh Doig - Hibernian
This is one position which may not need a change this summer, but one can never predict football. Reports say Arsenal are already looking at a number of strikers, and among them are;
1. Alexander Isak- Real Sociedad
2. Edouard - Celtic
3. Dominic Calvert-Lewin
The concrete links so far are; Lokonga, Nuno Tavares and Ben White. We wait to see who the club finally signs.
