Nigerian star Kelechi Iheanacho has won the Premier League EA Sport player of the month award for March. He won the monthly award after beating fellow nominees that included West Ham's Jesse Lingard, Manchester United's Luke Shaw, Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez, Chelsea's Andreas Christensen, Tottenham's Harry Kane, Brighton's Leandro Trossard and Leeds United's Illan Meslier.

Kelechi Iheanacho is the fourth Nigerian football player to win the award in the history of the Premier league. He is also the first player from the King Power stadium to win the award since 2019.

The Leicester City forward scored 5 goals in the month of March to scoop the award. Iheanacho scored 1 goal each against Burnley and Brighton, before going on to score his first ever Premier league hat-trick against Sheffield United.

The striker's performance in the absence of James Madisson and Harvey Barnes has proven that he deserves to be in the starting line up.
