Can Cristiano Ronaldo Hit The 1000 Goals Mark Before He Retires From Professional football ?

The way and pattern in which the Portuguese superstar continues to reinstate his relevance in the world of football, is one that marvels many. Day in day out, Cristiano Ronaldo has shown his worth as a player, striker and an internationally recognised superstar. His achievements precedes him in all spheres and as such, it's almost impossible for anyone to doubt his capabilities and potentials.

During the recent game between Portugal and Luxembourg, the Portugese captain was in top form steering his side to victory early in the game, with two fascinating penalty kicks which put them ahead. He registered three goals crucial goals to propel his team to a 5-0 win in their sixth FIFA World Cup qualifying game.

His hat-trick against Luxembourg takes the Manchester United striker's overall goalscoring tally to 794 career goals in 1083 appearances, sitting comfortably as the all time top scorer. With this said, the Portuguese footballer is just 206 goals away from the 1000 goals mark.

Considering his age (36) and the age factor, is it possible that he makes it to the 1000 goals mark before he finally hang his boots?

To attain such a magnificent feat, he needs to make more appearances and score more goals. Although Ronaldo has decided to retire from international football after the 2022 World Cup, his chances of achieving this feat becomes slimmer. But considering his current form and his current contract with Manchester United, he would have been 38 years old when his contract expires and if he doesn't get injured or ruled out for any reason, he might get to reach that mark.

For a player whose contemporaries are declining, he doesn't seem to be loosing his hunger for goals and that's why he is most likely to making it to 1000 goals.

Although the Portugese is an incredible finisher, he will have to play for at least three more years scoring a minimum of 70 goals per year in order for him to attain a millennium of goals. Do you see Cristiano Ronaldo bagging 1000 goals before his retirement from professional football?
