Hidilyn Diaz achieved her dreams today by beating world record holder Liao Qiuyun of China in the women's 55kg weight class at the Tokyo International Forum. While winning the Gold medal, she smashed her personal best by carrying a weight of 127 kg.
Recall that, in the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Diaz won the silver medal in the women's 53-kg weight division, ending the Philippines 20 years Olympic medal drought. She became the second athlete from the Philippines to win multiple Olympics medals, joining swimmer Teofilo Yldefonzo who won bronze in the men’s 200m breaststroke in 1928 and 1932.
After she won this medal for her country, it generated a lot of reactions online from several people.
So take a look at how they reacted
