King Pele was born on the 23rd of October 1940 meaning he is 80 years old today. He was born in Três Corações, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Pelé began playing for Santos at age 15. The following year, he joined the Brazilian national team at 16. During his international career, he won three FIFA World Cups: 1958, 1962 and 1970, being the only player ever to do so. King Pelé is the current all-time leading goalscorer for Brazil with 77 goals in 92 games.
In 1977 Pele retired from professional football. He has since them been promoting soccer all over the world.
