UEFA Champions League

OPINION: Liverpool Are The Favourites To Win The Champions League This Year, Not Chelsea & Not PSG

Whenever you hear people talk about the team with the best chances of winning the Uefa Champions League, you hear them mention clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich and even Real Madrid. No one seems to think Liverpool have what it takes to repeat their 2019 story by winning Europe's biggest trophy.

It is understandable that people think Paris Saint-Germain will win the title this season. They made it to the final two years ago, losing to FC Bayern. Then they made it to the Semifinal last season where they lost to Manchester City.

This time around, they have added a lot of experienced Champions League winners to their team. That and the fact that Lionel Messi is in their team makes them very strong contenders for the title.

Chelsea and Manchester City, the two finalists last season have very good teams and could easily go all the way again this season.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid will always get a mention when it comes to likely winners of the UCL title because they know how to win it. They have the experience and the players so it is normal.

But in my opinion, the real favourites to win this year's title is Liverpool. The Merseyside club are currently in phenomenal form and their 5-1 mauling of FC Porto proves they can absolutely beat any team in the competition.

Mohammed Salah is on fire, Sadio Mane is also in form and they have Virgil Van Dijk back. When Liverpool have no injury problem, they are as good as any team in the world.

They've got a manager who knows his job well and most of the players have won it before so they know what they have to do. I believe they are the favourites and not Chelsea, Manchester City or even Paris Saint-Germain.
