7 Most Paid Premier League Goalkeepers This Season.

Normally, goalkeepers' heroics are usually not well spoke of and this reflects in how much they are too. However, as the role of goalkeepers becomes more important to how teams play these days, it is beginning to reflect in their wages as goalkeepers are now part of their team's highest earners.

In the Premier League, there are many goalkeepers who are earning a respectable weekly wage at their respective clubs. In fact, there is a goalkeeper who, until this season, was his club's highest-paid player.

Although, other clubs still have many outfield players occupying the top positions on their wage bills, goalkeepers are beginning to move higher regarding their wages.

In this article, Calistosports has put together a list of 7 most paid goalkeepers in the Premier League this season.

Below is the list of 7 most paid goalkeepers in the Premier League this season.

7. Hugo Lloris.

First on my list is Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. At Tottenham, Loris earns 100k pounds on a weekly basis. He is one of many goalkeepers on the same wage at their respective clubs.

Lloris is a Premier League veteran, and it is unlikely that he will see an increase even if he signs a new contract later in his career.

6. Dean Henderson.

Young Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is next on the list. After he impressed on loan at Sheffield United, he had threatened to usurp David De Gea's place in the team. However, he hasn't been able to do so.

To keep him at the club, he was offered an improved contract. This season, Henderson is earning a whooping 100k pounds per week wage. He is the youngest goalkeeper on the list.

5. Jordan Pickford.

Up next is Jordan Pickford of Everton. The English goalkeeper is one of the Premier League's most expensive goalkeepers. Fittingly, he is also one of the most paid in the business. Pickford earns a 100k per week wage at Everton. He joins other goalkeepers mentioned earlier on the same wage.

4. Bernd Leno.

Before Arsenal signed Aaron Ramsdale, Leno was the club's first choice goalkeeper. You wouldn't struggle to know this, as he was one of the highest earners around. Leno is also paid 100k pounds every week.

3. Alisson Becker.

Allison Becker is one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers today. The Brazilian is the second most expensive goalkeeper in the Premier League, and he is also one of the highest paid around. Alisson Becker earns a 150k pounds per week wage at Liverpool.

2. Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is the world's most expensive goalkeeper. He came in for around 70 million pounds when Chelsea signed. He immediately signed a 155k pounds per week wage. Although he has lost his starting spot to Edouard Mendy, he remains one of the most paid goalkeepers in the league.

1. David De Gea.

Well, what can we say about David De Gea's ridiculous wage? He is probably the longest serving goalkeeper among all current starting goalkeepers. De Gea earns a mouthwatering 375k pounds every week at Manchester United.

That represents twice what the second most paid goalkeeper earns. How did De Gea manage to be earning so much? He was able to after he signed a new contract in 2016. At the time, he was arguably the best goalkeeper in the world.

Many may be a bit surprised not to find Ederson on this list. The truth is that he should be among the best paid goalkeeper. However, according to Sportskeeda he was earning 65k pounds as at last season.

Early this season, he signed a new contract which definitely included an improved wage, but the details of the contact hasn't been made public.

He is rumoured however to signed around 100k plus wage in the new deal. Until the details is made public, we will stick with his 65k pounds wage. As a result, he doesn't feature on this list.

In your opinion, which goalkeeper on this list is earning more than deserved, and which is earning less than deserved? Let us know your views on this topic.

Kindly for Calistosports for more updates as they unfold.
