The final game of the week saw Wolverhampton wanderers take on reigning champions Liverpool at the Molineux staduim.
Liverpool headed into the match on the back of a champions league victory in the round of 16 over German side RB Leipzig while Wolverhampton wanderers had drawn their previous game in the premier league.
The first half of the game was an eventful one as Liverpool pressed the home Nuno Espirito's men in search of an opening goal. It took the away side a while, but they did get themselves on the scoresheet as returning attacker Diogo Jota struck his 10th goal Liverpool against his former side as Jurgen Klopp's men led at halftime.
The second half was marred by a serious head injury to Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio who collided with his own defender Connor Coady. And, there would be no goals further in the game as Liverpool held on for a win which significantly boosted the Meyerside club hopes of making the top 4.

Manchester city and Manchester united are the first two teams on the top of the table for yet another week while Leicester city are 3rd on the log.
Chelsea occupy the last champions league place on the table with West ham united just behind in 5th position. Liverpool climb up to 6th place following their win on Monday while Everton, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Arsenal are the remaining teams that complete the top half of the table.
