Mendy names the Nigerian who helped him not to quit football.

Edouard Mendy is a Senegalese goalkeeper that plays for English club Chelsea in the English premier league and also for the Senegalese Nation team.

Edouard Mendy signed for Chelsea from French Club Stadde Rennes in last summer transfer window for a fee around £22m, and since his move to West London he has been impressive for the blues keeping many cleans sheets for them already.

Edouard Mendy has explained that he looked up to Nigeria legend and former goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama years back in his career.

Enyeama was one of the best goalkeeper Nigeria has ever had considering his achievement with the Super Eagles as he won the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

"You get to a point when you are not sure if you have made the right choice in your career" Mendy said.

"I was at that point, but seeing a fellow African like Enyeama doing well at a top level got me going".

Mendy has been wonderful for the blues this season keeping many clean sheets for them, and recently leading them to the champions league final over Real Madrid last week Wednesday.
