Chelsea Won The League Trophy The Following Season After Giving Leicester A Guard Of Honor In 2016

The 2015/16 Season was a terrible season for Chelsea. The West London club, under Portuguese Manager Jose Mourinho, had a terrible campaign during the season. They later finished on the 10th position on the Premier league table, thereby failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa league.

To make it worse for the West London club, they had to give a guard of honor to the underdog Leicester City Squad that lifted the Premier league title that season.

Leicester City's success in the Premier league in the 2015/16 season was arguably the biggest underdog Story in the modern era of the Premier league and Chelsea had to honor the Foxes by giving them a guard of honor.

The following season which was the 2016/17 season, Chelsea won their 5th Premier League under the reign of Roman Abramovich. The West London club appointed Italian Manager Antonio Conte at the end of the 2015/16 season and the Former Juventus Manager delivered the League title for the West London club at the end of the following season.

Before the kickoff of Chelsea's Premier league game against Manchester City on Sunday evening at Etihad Stadium, the West London club had to honor the Pep Guardiola's side by giving them a guard of honor for their success in the Premier league race this season.

Just like the last time that Chelsea gave a guard of honor to a Premier League Champion, the West London club has been horrible this season. They are going to finish on the second half of the Premier league table this season, missing the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa league.

The West London would be expected to come back better next season to challenge for the Premier league title. They have made a comeback after a terrible season in the past, they can certainly do it again.
