Breaking: No Balloon D'Or Award for 2020

The Prestigious Balloon D'Or Award for the best footballer on the planet will not be considered this year,2020.

The France Football just announced some couple of minutes ago, that due to the Covid-19 disruption of good football activities for the year 2020 across the notable leagues of the world, it will not be right to roll out drums for any award this year. Such a year shouldn't be treated as a normal as there was tension around the world due to the pandemic.

Based on the observation, that stakeholders in nominating and rewarding the effort of the best player may be done with negative emotions and passions, due to the break and the priority of the recent times in dealing with the containment of the virus.

This means Lionel Messi will be keeping the award untill 2020. Good performances this year from the round leather game may be discouraged and unfulfilled. Players like Salah of Liverpool and Egypt, Kevin De Bruyne (Begium/Man City)and Lewandowski Roberts of Bayern Munich, Germany would have been great contenders of the prestigious award but this will no more happen this year. This is a lost opportunity, especially considering the performance of Messi and Ronaldo in the year 2020. One would have expected that Robert Lewandowski or the City man, Dr Bruyne will walk home with the beautiful award.

The organisers of the Balloon D'Or Award Believe that to keep the value and the reputation of the respected award, this is the best decision to also allows for proper understanding among football fans and stakeholders. We can only be hopefully that 2021 gives us the best of Football.

Drop your reaction on the announcement.
