Opinion: Worst VAR And Anthony Taylor's Penalty Decision In UEFA Nations League Final

The Video Assistant Referee and Anthony Taylor's not to give Spain a penalty in the UEFA Nations League final match against France is the talk of the match in the first 45 minutes of the game.

It was an entertaining match between the two teams as France locked up their defense against Ferran Torres and other Spain attackers. Spain dominated the game from the first 10 minutes before France tactical counter attack game plan started working for them.

The likes of Kylian Mbappe, Griezmann and Karim Benzema were outstanding with the counter attack play. Spain could have gotten the lead in the first half of the game but a good save from lloris denied them the opening goal.

The Video Assistant Referee and the Referee decision not to award Spain a red card despite a clear view of the hand ball was criticised by the fans and the pundits.

Jules Kounde blocked Rodri's cross with his hands. That should have been a penalty for Luis Enrique's team but VAR refused to review the incident.

Despite the outrage protest by the Spanish players, the Video Assistant Referee refused to review the foul. The decision could be branded as the worst decision because it was a clear handball by the Sevilla defender.

The VAR was wrong to not have reviewed the decision because one of the work of the VAR is to help the Referee to take decisions that looks confusing.

Spain started the second half of the game good passing in the middle of the field. Mikel Oyarzabal brilliant finish in the 64th minutes of the game gave Spain the lead.

France responded with a brilliant counter attack and it was Karim Benzema who scored the equalizing goal for France.

It was a brilliant performance from the two teams but Anthony Taylor's and the VAR decision not to award Spain a penalty despite having a clear view of the handball could be tagged the worst decision in UEFA Nations League final match.

Kylian Mbappe's 80th minutes of the game gave France the lead after a clear review of the VAR shows that the Paris Saint Germain star was onside.

Do you think you think that should have been a penalty for Spain?
