In October 2021, Zlatan Ibrahimović clocked 40 years old, and he celebrated the occasion by spoiling himself with a brand-new Ferrari, just like he did 2 years ago. Playing at the top level at 40 years old is an astonishing feat for the Swede, but he is not the only famous footballer who is at least 40 years old.
Most footballers around the world retire before they clock 40 because their bodies can no longer deliver the physical demands of the game, but these footballers are at least 40 years old and still playing.
The Italian is one of the best goalkeepers of all time, he started playing professional football at the age of 17, and he's been a professional for 26 years. He is currently playing for Parma, the club he was in for 10 years before joining Juventus in 2001.
The 2006 world cup winner is 43 years old and still has a few years if he continues to work hard. He probably rejoined Parma to end his career where he started it.
2. Djibril Cisse.
The Frenchman who is a former Liverpool striker is currently playing for his 15th professional club, Panathinaikos Chicago in the United States of America. He is not only famous for his goal-scoring abilities but his hairstyles too. Cisse, who won the Champions League in 2005 is 40 years old.
3. Zlatan Ibrahimović.
With over 500 goals in his career, Zlatan is one of the deadliest strikers in the world. Even though he is 40 years old, he keeps defying his age with his excellent performances. AC Milan is his 9th club, and nobody can tell when the 6ft 5 (1.96 m)striker will retire.
