ESP 1-2 FRA: 2 Things Barcelona Should Improve About Pablo Gavi's Style Of Play

Barcelona Pablo Gavi dazzled excellently against France yesterday, as regards the UEFA Nations League finals. The 17-year-old Spaniard performed brilliantly along with Sergio Busquets, and they both outplayed the Les Blues from the midfield. Apparently, Luis Enrique showed his trust in the youngster, as he started him in both the semi-finals and finals.

Here are Gavi's statistics against France:

87 pass accuracy

40 touches

31 passes

2 fouls

2 crosses

1 take-on completed

1 tackle

1 foul won

Frankly, the Bluagranas youngster didn't hold back in battling with Paul Pogba and Aurélien Tchouaméni last night. In all fairness, Spain and Barcelona are blessed with many young brilliant players, having produced the likes of Ansu Fati, Pedri González, Pablo Gavi and the rest. Regardless of the result yesterday, the Ronald Koeman's man was outstanding throughout his stay on the pitch.

Meanwhile, there are two things Barcelona should improve about Gavi's style of play, as regards his all-around display against France yesterday. Potentially, the young Spaniard is destined to be great in the future, and he can become a world-class midfielder based on his ability and capability. As a matter of fact, the Bluagranas may be struggling at the moment, but their future is very bright.

Firstly, the Ronald Koeman's side should improve Pablo Gavi's reckless tackling. Apparently, the Spanish young wizard frustrated Jorginho in the UEFA Nations League semi-final, and he dominated Paul Pogba yesterday to the point that the Manchester United midfielder swapped roles with Aurélien Tchouaméni. Gavi is very daring as he's not afraid to take challenges against top players, having seen how he challenged Presnel Kimpembe. As a result, Barcelona should caution him about his tackling, so as to avoid getting too many yellow or red cards. As regards his style of play, he used to tackle like Marco Verratti and Thiago Alcantara, as they are all reckless tacklers. The likes of N'Golo Kante and Sergio Busquets are world-class defensive midfielders, but they always tackle with caution. With that being said, the Bluagranas should improve Gavi's way of tackling, if they really want him to become a legend in the future.

Secondly, the LaLiga side should improve Gavi's vision. Actually, Pablo is different from Pedri González, as regards their pass accuracy. The Barcelona academy product doesn't have a good vision, as he usually lays mediocre passes. Improving his vision, on the other hand, will allow him to make incredible passes like Kevin De Bruyne, Cesc Fàbregas, and Mesut Özil . Of course, the Spanish youngster is amazing when it comes to chasing the opposing players up and down, because he's very daring in taking challenges against the opponents. However, improving his vision will definitely make him a better and complete midfielder, especially when some managers believe in his potential.

Do you think Pablo Gavi can be great in the future?
