UEFA Champions League

One Record Set By Mohamed Salah As He Scored Against Atletico Madrid Today

Mohamed Salah has become the first player in Liverpool history to score in nine successive games following his strike against Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool maintained their 100 per cent record in Champions League Group B as Salah's penalty clinched a dramatic 3-2 victory at Atletico Madrid. In a game played at a relentless tempo, packed with incident, Salah opened the scoring – with a helping touch from James Milner.

Naby Keita made it 2-0, was then exposed for both of Antoine Griezmann’s goals which brought Atletico level - and then the French international was sent off as the game lurched in another fascinating direction.

The Egyptian has been in scintillating form this term and took just eight minutes to open the scoring in the Spanish capital. His effort, which originally looked to come off James Milner, has been awarded to him by UEFA and allowed him to break more records in the process.
