Since joining Turkish side, Fenerbahce, Ozil only goal involvement in 11 appearances is one assist in 2-1 loss to Sivasspor on the final day of last season, though he missed two months of action on the sideline due to injury.

He found the net against Adana Demirspor in the second half after just 11 seconds from resumption, latching onto a cross from the left flank to tap into the net. His goal was the only goal of a 1-0 victory and his first since moving to Turkey.
