Transfer News: Chelsea To Battle Man Utd For Martinez; Pulisic tipped to leave Chelsea

Chelsea To Battle Man Utd For Martinez

Chelsea are set to battle Manchester United and Tottenham for the signature of Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to TyC Sports journalist Gaston Edul. The 30-year-old is one of the most sought-after players after his heroics with Argentina in the 2022 World Cup and is set to leave Aston Villa at the end of the season. However, he does not have a release clause in his contract which puts Villa in a favourable position.

Pulisic tipped to leave Chelsea

United States international Christian Pulisic is being tipped to leave Chelsea this summer as he “needs to feel like an important player” again.

“I think [Pulisic will leave], yes. It's time for him to go and play some regular football, he needs to be consistent and feel like an important player in the club and this is not happening at Chelsea," Fabrizio Romano told CBS Sports.

Chelsea To Put Osimhen's Move On Hold

Chelsea are set to put a move for Napoli's Victor Osimhen on hold as they believe agreeing a deal for the Nigeria striker, 24, would be too difficult this summer, according to reports in Football Insider.

Chelsea’s focus in the off-season will be on clearing the decks and balancing the books, with Mauricio Pochettino expected to take the Stamford Bridge hot seat.

Napoli are expected to demand offers north of £100million in order to part with Osimhen following their Serie A title win this season. The Nigeria international has previously gone public to speak about his “dream” of playing in the Premier League – comments which put the likes of Chelsea and Man United on high alert.

Aston Villa plotting a swoop of Uruguayan midfielder

The Sun has reported that Mateu Alemany is gearing up to make his first marque signing at Aston Villa as he’s eyeing a swoop of Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon. The Clarets and Blues first scouted the Uruguayan during Arsenal’s Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon in March. Alemany has been in contact with Unai Emery for the 22-year-old’s signing and could look to get the midfielder on board next season.
