Barcelona is an illustrious club that has had the privilege of having the best players in the round game of football in their team. Some have left with a great affinity for the club. It's no surprise when their former player vowed not to celebrate any goal he scores against them.
The player is no other than Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
Ivan Rakitic swapped Sevilla for Barcelona in 2014 and moved back to his former club in September 2020 in the last summer transfer window.
During his time at the Camp Nou, the midfielder picked up loads of trophies. He won La Liga four times, the Copa del Rey also on four occasions, and managed one Champions League victory.
Barcelona faces Sevilla in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday evening, and Rakitic will captain his side against his old club as current team captain Jesus Navas is out injured.
When asked if he is going to celebrate when he scores against his old side, this is what he had to say;
“I wouldn’t celebrate a goal against Barcelona. I will always carry them with me.
“Things that were discussed were not fulfilled with me, but there I have lived many beautiful moments. My little daughter was born in Barcelona, I have many friends in the city and a lot of affection from the fans, which is mutual.”
Barcelona fans will hope he's not on top form because they know what kind of player he is on his good day.
