Popular football pundit Paul Merson, has come out to outline one major problem of Chelsea's head coach Frank Lampard.
The young manager has come under attack from fans and pundits following his teams poor run of results lately in the Epl.
Merson in and interview with sky sports, outlined that head coach Lampard is too critical of his players performances, which tends to affect their mentality.
Recall that Lampard has been vocal about his teams poor performances especially in games were they underperformed, as he is always too quick to heap the blame on his players.
Merson however stated that Lampard should understand that his players are not like him, as Lampard was a hard-working footballer during his playing days. He went on to say,
“These players are not Frank Lampard. He’d go to the very end and run through a brick wall for you,” Merson revealed.
“I can’t remember seeing him play a game, leave the pitch and thinking: ‘He could have given a bit more".
“He needs to remember that these players are not him", "When they were getting ripped to shreds by Man City, you could see the frustration on his face, because he’s thinking: ‘I wouldn’t allow this, show me something!"
“Frank needs to realise and understand that.”
Lampard has been fond of calling out his players this season, recall the game against Arsenal he went on to brand their performance as "not good enough", Merson feels that the manager should understand that not every player has his type of mentality.
Do you think calling out Chelsea players after loosing games is a good approach by Lampard? Please do well to like and follow thanks
