Meet 4 WWE Wrestlers That Are Originally From Nigeria (Photos)

1. Apollo Crews

Sesugh Uhaa, famously known by his ring name, Apollo Crews, is an American professional wrestler.

Currently signed to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Apollo Crews' professional wrestling career kicked off fourteen years ago in 2009, when he was wrestling under the ring name, Uhaa Nation.


In 2011, he came into limelight when the Dragon Gate USA promotion signed him.

Uhaa Nation, his ring name then, was changed to Apollo Crews when he was signed into WWE in 2015, and was later signed to the NXT brand.

Promoted to WWE's prominent roster in April 2016, he went on to win the United States Championship in 2020 and the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 37.

Although Apollo Crews was born in Sacramento, California, United States of America, he is originally from Nigeria. Both of his parents are Tiv from Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.

2. Ezra Judge

Ezekwesiri Nduka, popularly known by his ring name, Ezra Judge, is an American body builder and professional wrestler who has been signed to WWE since 2019.

Prior to his wrestling career, he was a gridiron footballer, and arena football defensive end outside linebacker.

Born in Dallas, Taxas, United States, Nduka is originally from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria.

3. Commander Azeez

Babatunde Łukasz Aiyegbusi is a Polish professional wrestler.

Currently signed to WWE since 2016, where he performed on the SmackDown brand under the ring name, Commander Azeez, Aiyegbusi is formerly a football player with the Polish American Football Leader, and the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League.

On September 30, 2016 in Orlando, Florida, United States, Aiyegbusi made his professional wrestling debut at the NXT house show, vying for a royal battle. His televised wrestling debut came on April 27 at the Greatest Royal Rumble, when he entered into the Royal Rumble match as the 37th entrant but was unfortunately eliminated by Braun Strowman.

On April 11, 2021, he helped his fellow Nigerian Wrestling team mate, Apollo Crews, win the Intercontinental Championship from Big E when he returned as a heel during the Night 2 of WrestleMania 37.

The 32-year-old wrestler is paternally a Nigerian as his father, a Medical doctor, is from Nigeria and his mother, a nurse, is from Poland.

4. Omos

Tolulope Jordan Omogbehin, performing under his name, Omos, is an American professional wrestler.

He was an American basketball player before he was signed to WWE on October 2018.

On July 18, 2019, Omogbehin made his in-ring debut, defeating his opponent in a Two-On-One Handicap match.

On the March 15, 2021, episode of Raw, Omos made an announcement that he would be making his televised in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37 alongside Styles against The New Day for the Raw Tag Team Championship. At the event of the fight, Omos and AJ Styles defeated The New Day to win the titles, after Omos powerbombed and pinned Kofi Kingston.

Omogbehin is originally a Nigerian. His parents are Nigerian immigrants in United States of America.
