Super Eagles star shines for his European top club in their 1-1 home draw

Super Eagles of Nigeria left-back Zaidu Sanusi was impressive for Sergio Conceicao led Portuguese Primeira Liga Champions FC Porto on Friday night, as they played out a 1-1 draw against Jorge Jesus led Benfica football club at Estadio do Dragao Stadium in Portugal.

The Nigerian international retained his starting role in the team's defence line alongside former Real Madrid star Pepe, Nanu and Chancel Mbemba, and they all played a fantastic role in the team's defence line as they denied the away team the victory.

The away team opened scoring through Alex Grimaldi in the 17th minutes after receiving a fine cross from Haris Seferovic, before in-form Mehdi Taremi equalized for the host in the 25th minutes through an assist from Jesus Corona, as the first half ended 1-1.

Both teams tried their best to score the winner in the second half, but all their efforts were not successful as the match ended in a draw.

Zaidu Sanusi was superb in the away team's defence line, most especially in the second half, after Mehdi Taremi was shown a straight red card, he made sure he tried his best to deny their opponent from scoring the winning goal.

The draw against Benfica has now taken FC Porto to the second spot in the Portuguese Primeira Liga table with 32 points from 14 matches played.
