The Video Assistant Referee and Referee's decision to allow Chelsea's first goal to stand despite having a clear view of Rudiger's handball have been heavily criticised. Chelsea continues their impressive form in this season season UEFA Champions League after outplaying Juventus in the match day 5 of group H fixtures at Stamford Bridge.
It was an entertaining match between the two teams but Chelsea dominated the game from the beginning of the match to the end. Thomas Tuchel made couple of changes from the team that defeated Leicester City over the weekend. Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech started the game ahead of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz.
The VAR decision not to cancel Chelsea's first goal could be branded as the worst decision in this season UEFA Champions League. The VAR and Referee made a wrong decision not to cancel Chalobah's goal because Rudiger intentionally changed the direction of the ball with his hands.
The VAR decision should have been a foul against Rudiger because his hands touched the ball before it entered net. Such goals have been canceled several times this season because the handball is against the rules of the game.
Chelsea continues their impressive form in the second half of the game despite having the likes of Lukaku, Timo Werner and Mason Mount on the bench.
Reece James gave Chelsea the second goal through a brilliant shot right inside the box. The England International was impressive from the beginning of the match to the end of the game.
Despite leading with 2-0, Chelsea created more goal scoring chances than Juventus in the second half of the game. Odoi's brilliant finish gave Chelsea a comfortable 3-0 lead before Timo Werner sealed the victory for Chelsea.
With the result, the blues have qualified for the knock out stage of the competition and are currently leading the group with goal difference.
