How Osimhen, Mo Salah & Sadio Mane's club exploit could make them leading contenders for CAF awards

African players in the modern game of football have been integral parts of the game doing exploits and contributing meaningfully across top clubs in Europe and as such compete with their foreign counterparts.

Since the start of the current campaign across Europe's top five leagues, Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Liverpool's duo of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have all been phenomenal for their respective clubs across all competitions.

The trio have been delivering at the optimal level and have also been firing from all cylinders for their club and as such been representing the African heritage with dignity with their talents.

Nigeria's Victor Osimhen has been at another level for the Luciano Spalletti's side so far this season having picked up his form from where he left off in the last campaign under Italian manager, Gennaro Gattuso.

Victor Osimhen played key roles for the Naples to remain the only club in Europe's top five leagues with a perfect 100% record of winning having recorded 8 consecutive wins in their 8 league openers so far, scoring five goals in seven league games and eight goals in nine games across all competitions.

The African most expensive player and Napoli's record signing in the Italian Serie A so far has the highest non-penalty goals with 28% conversion rate, scoring a goal every 82 minutes.

Mohamed Salah for Liverpool this season has also been on fire both in scoring goals and creating assists which has been instrumental for the Reds, putting them on an incredible stats so far in the English premier league as they have not tasted a defeat in their top-flight division.

Mohamed Salah with his wonder goal against Watford in the last weekend equals Chelsea's legend, Didier Drogba 104 premier league goals record as the most African top scorer in the competition.

The Egyptian maestro with his superb form in the early start of the season is now the joint-top scoring African in the premier league history with all certainty to break the record by becoming the outright top scorer in their next fixtures.

The Champions League and Premier League winner with Liverpool has established himself as one of the most prolific forwards since joining the Jurgen Klopp's side from AS Roma in 2017.

Sadio Mane has also been phenomenal for the Reds since joining the club from Southampton in 2014 as he has now become the third African player to score 100 premier league goals, and the only third player to achieve this feat with no penalty goals.

The Senegalese dazzler who finished fourth for the Balloon d'or and fifth for the Best FIFA Men's Player both in 2019 and fourth in 2020 has since then be making waves for himself, as he remained relevant in the round leather game hitherto.

All these mind-blowing stats for the football maestros could make them strong contenders ahead of other African players in the forthcoming CAF awards as any of these trio deserves the award most.

Who could probably emerge as the outright winner of the award based on their great exploit for their respective clubs in 2021?
