Chelsea have had a fantastic start to the season, and their victory in the Champions League final has been everything their fans could have hoped for. However, with each new season comes a new set of expectations.
When Frank Lampard took over the team, he conceded that it wasn't ready to fight for the title yet. He was completely wrong, as it turned out. Thomas Tuchel was brought in and won the Champions League in just a few months. The expectation is to defend it, but many fans believe the Premier League is more important right now, and Tuchel has all of the tools he needs to win it. But it will not be such an easy task as there are other teams well equipped to challenge for the title.
Chelsea leads the Premier League table after seven games, two points ahead of Manchester United and one point ahead of Liverpool. There are a few teams that could challenge them, but Tuchel has stuck to a balanced tactical approach that is capable of both attacking and defending and is slightly altered to suit their opponents' plans.
N'golo Kante and Jorginho will be crucial in maintaining control of the midfield, which, as we all know, is crucial to winning games in the Premier League. Romelu Lukaku, who has already established himself as a focal point of attack for the team, will be the final catalyst. In Chelsea's quest for the title, his contributions in front of goal will make all the difference.
Finally, there's the depth of the squad. Only Manchester City has the depth in their team to compete with Chelsea in all areas. Tuchel has individuals that can play in every position on the pitch, as well as some flexible players like Mason Mount and Kai Havertz who can influence the game in a variety of ways.
