Late Football Administrator Bode Oyewole Buried In Ibadan Amid Tears, Eulogies (Photos)

Tears flowed freely and eulogies filled the air as the remains of famed football administrator and retired journalist, Chief Bode Oyewole, were on Friday committed to mother earth in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State.

The funeral attended by representatives of the Oyo State Government, top functionaries from Oyo State Sports Council, Shooting Stars Football Club and members of the family, started with a short tribute to the deceased at the NUJ Press Centre Iyaganku by 9.00am.

This was followed by a church service at St Mark Anglican Church Olomi Area, Ibadan, after which many persons spoke glowingly of the retired Journalist who died after a brief ilness in the early morning of Tuesday 14 July aged 67. His wife, Bose confirmed the news to journalists.

Many persons spoke glowingly of the departed after the church service en-route to the cemetery for interment.

Oyewole served served as Chief Press Secretary to a former Oyo State Governor, the late Kolapo Ishola, Chairman, Oyo State chapter, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Chairman, Oyo State Football Association and Chairman, 3SC in 1998 and 2005.

He was Chairman when 3SC won two titles in 1998, the Nigerian first division league title and the West African Football Union (WAFU) Cup.
