EPL: Iheanacho set to equal Odemwingie's Premier League record

Nigerians in the past years have made their mark in England playing in the English Premier League.

From the days of Efan Ekoku to Kanu Nwankwo, Austin Okocha and even Yakubu Aiyegbeni, you have to give it to Nigerians for doing the Green and White colours of Nigeria proud in England.

In March, Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho joined Jay-Jay Okocha, Peter Odemwingie and Odion Ighalo as the fourth Nigerian player to win the monthly EPL Player-of-the-Month award after he scored five goals in three matches in the month under review.

Now, the 24-year-old is set to take it a notch higher as he has been nominated for the April award and could thus become only the second Nigerian after Peter Osaze Odemwingie to win two EPL Player-of-the-Month awards in a season.

The 24-year-old has been on an incredible form since the turn of the year and his spectacular performances has helped the Foxes a great deal in their double drive for a top-four finish in the EPL as well as a historic FA Cup triumph after making it to the final after over 50 years.
