In Spanish football, the Trofeo Pichichi is awarded by the sports newspaper Marca to the top goalscorer of each La Liga season. Named after the Athletic Bilbao striker Rafael "Pichichi" Moreno, the trophy has been awarded annually since the 1952–53 season.
This is now the 7th time that Barcelona iconic "Lionel Messi" has had his hands wrapped around the Pichichi award. Although this season wasn't his best, he was able to finish as Spanish top scorer with 25 goals ahead of his closest rival to the award "Karim Benzema" who finished with 21 goals. Messi also bagged 21 assists despite the fact that this wasn't his best season, no wonder why he's the best player ever.
Although Barcelona didn't win the league, losing to their main rivals "Real Madrid" who have been excellent this season with points, Messi was still able to get his hands to the Pichichi award. No doubt, he's truly a King. Even at his worst season, he still grabs an award. He is undoubtedly the real king of the modern football.
