With zero goals, zero point and nine goals conceded in their first three Premier league games this season, Arsenal found themselves languishing at the bottom of the table, one that placed a dark shadow over the future of Mikel Arteta.
Following the conclusion of the International break last month, the Red contingent of North London seemed to have found their foot again as they recorded three consecutive wins which was later followed by two successive draws, before their latest 3-1 victory over Aston Villa. As it stands, the Gunners are 10th on the Premier league table with 14 points from a possible 27 and somehow talks of Mikel Arteta's sacking seem to have diminished.
However, the questions that every Arsenal fan should be asking at this point is this, can the team under Mikel Arteta challenge for a top four finish talk more of the Premier league title? or are they just okay with winning in one week and then slipping up in the next?. Needful to say that consistency is a quality of every team that are in the business of winning major honours and challenging for top place finishes, but frankly speaking, Mikel Arteta's side do not look like they are there yet. There is a huge difference between a manager who is keeping his job out of favoritism and one who is doing it because of competency and Stan Kroenke knows vividly well which side the Spaniard is on.
Mikel Arteta may have done just enough to lift Arsenal from rock bottom to 10th position in the Premier league and perhaps bought himself more time, but he doesn't look like he is out of the woods just yet.
Again I reiterate, Is Mikel Arteta's Job At Arsenal Now Safe?
