Pep Guardiola finally won Thomas Tuchel for the first time in their last four meetings in all competitions with Tuchel winning in the previous three meetings before the last one last weekend. Pep Gaurdiola's Manchester City team was the better side on Saturday as they dominated Chelsea throughout the game limiting them from having a shot on target despite playing with two top strikers(Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku) upfront.
However, Pep Guardiola's team had struggled to contain Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea in their previous meetings, but Pep Guardiola used a risky tactic on Saturday to try and contain Tuchel's Chelsea team and stop them from winning him for the fourth consecutive times, and it worked perfectly for him as his team became the first Premier League team to score Chelsea an open goal and the first team to beat them in all competitions so far this season.
Tuchel used a 3-5-2 formation which is undoubtedly one of the best attacking formations today, as it allows teams to dominate midfield and create many chances for their two strikers upfront. But Tuchel's Chelsea team struggled to execute their game plan against City after Pep had opted to use the man-to-man tactics at the back, leaving Laporte and Dias to mark Lukaku and Werner.Man City's position against Chelsea on Saturday.Pep's tactics restricted Lukaku and Werner from attacking Man City on Saturday.
This allowed Cancelo and Kyle Walker to join the midfield, and this enabled them to outnumbered Chelsea in the midfield. Nonetheless, leaving only two defenders to man-mark Lukaku and Werner was a risky tactical decision from Pep Guardiola as it opened enough space in his defense, and it would have been easy for Chelsea to score goals if they came out to attack as usual, but luckily for him and his team, it worked out well. And whether other teams will be brave enough to copy that tactic in the coming fixtures remains to be seen.

Do you think that other teams will be brave enough to use the same tactic against Chelsea in the coming fixtures?
