The ability of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to rise up on the greatest stage and lead their teams to victory is what separates them from the others. The combination is noted for putting on decisive performances, carrying their teams on their shoulders, and achieving outstanding results.

Both superstars have scored in the FIFA World Cup, Champions League, European Championship, and Copa America. They've also scored and assisted on many occasions in tournament finals.

In 44 appearances in all finals, Lionel Messi has a total of 31 goals and 13 assists. Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, has a record of 20 goals and two assists in 31 games.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the best finishes in history. Despite being on the wrong side of 30, the pair has smashed nearly every major record and continues to dazzle in front of goal.

For both club and country, Ronaldo has over 800 goals. With 111 goals for Portugal, he is the all-time leading scorer. He's also the most prolific striker in Champions League history, with 136 goals in the competition.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi has a total of 751 goals in his club and international career. Messi, like his Portuguese rival, is the country's all-time leading scorer (Argentina). With 474 goals in La Liga, he is the all-time leading scorer.
