Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao locked horns at the San Mames Stadium tonight in what was said to be the final La Liga game of today. After having an amazing performance in the La Liga last week, The Catalans were looking to display such performance in today's match in order to secure maximum points against Athletic Bilbao.
Barcelona had a great opportunity to open the scoring in the 7th minute of the game but Martin Braithwaite squandered the chance as he missed an easy sitter. Athletic Bilbao also threatened Barcelona at some point in the game but none of their efforts could break the deadlock. Neither side could get a goal in the first half as they sat for a halftime goalless draw.
Athletic Bilbao took the lead in the 50th minute of the game as Inigo Martinez found the back of the net with a powerful header to make the scoreline 1-0 in favour of the home team.
Memphis Depay got Barcelona the equaliser in the 75th minute of the game as he scored a beautiful goal to make the scoreline 1-1.
No other goals were scored in the match as both sides settled for a 1-1 draw at full-time
