Super Eagles of Nigeria shot stopper Mathew Yakubu was impressive for Gergely Geri led SKF Sered football club of Slovakia, in their deserved 2-0 home victory over Zemplin Michalovce FC on Saturday evening, in the week 27 of the Slovakia Fortuna Liga.
The Nigerian international retained his spot in coach Gergely Geri's team, as the team's first choice goalkeeper, and he was able to impress, as he guided the team to a deserved victory.
Matthew Yakubu who was outstanding for Sered FC last weekend in their 2-1 home victory was superb again today, as he made a couple of saves to deny the away team from finding the back of the net.
The host opened scoring through Andrej Fabry in the 6th minutes, with a classic goal, to end the first half 1-0.
Adam Morong doubled the lead for the host in the 87th minutes, after receiving an assist from Denis Potoma, to end the match 2-0 in favour of Gergely Geri's men.
Mathew Yakubu was impressive for the home team throughout the whole duration of the game, and he made nothing less than four good saves to deny the away team from scoring.
The victory over Zemplin Michalovce FC has now taken SKF Sered to the top of the second group of the Slovekia Fortuna Liga table with 34 points from 27 matches played
