The shot stopper was impressive for the Switzerland national as he made many incredible saves to deny Spain strikers in the entertaining match.
Yann Sommer has been one of the best goalkeepers in the ongoing UEFA Euro, and he tried all the best he could to help his team to progress to the semi-final, but his efforts were not successful.
After playing out a 1-1 draw in the full time, Spain were able to defeat their opponent 3-1 in the penalty shootout to book their spot in the next round of the competition.
Yann Sommer was superb for Switzerland national team in the game, and he made nothing less than 12 good saves to deny Spain a winning goal.
Reacting to Yann Sommer's performance, UEFA posted on their verified Twitter handle that;
"🇨🇭 A tournament to remember for Sommer and Switzerland. They can be immensely proud 👏👏👏."
The penalty shootout's victory over Switzerland has now taken Spain to the next round of the UEFA Euro 2020.
