The January transfer window is just some months away, Chelsea can make 2 transfers to give themselves another striker. A very interesting month in the world of transfers, January is always a month where teams add players to their teams to help them keep trying to win games. Several players' contracts are set to expire at the end of the season, Chelsea could take advantage of that situation at other clubs and boost their strike force.
Recall, their top striker Lukaku is still out injured. Even if they are top of the league and scoring goals they have been wasteful as well. A 1-1 draw against Burnley comes to mind, Chelsea in that game on November 6 wasted a lot of chance. These were chances one would have felt Lukaku would have scored.
Chelsea should get themselves busy in the early part of 2022, to make sure Thomas Tuchel remains on top of the Premier League. They could with the new signing not only advance in the Champions League after a promising start to the season but might also win it for the third time.
1. Andrea Belotti
The 27-year-old is believed to have no plans to extend his deal, according to the football London. While the Blues are stock in the striker department Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku were both injured giving Tuchel Kai Havertz to pick only.
It will do Chelsea a whole lot of good if they could land someone able to play alongside Lukaku or as second choice, an out-and-out striker certainly wouldn't go amiss.
Linked with Belotti in the past, the Torino striker has recorded 107 goals in 236 appearances for the Serie A side. Chelsea will be signing Belotti might bring enough competition in the striking department. The striker however this season has managed just eight outings so far this season due to injury, but he would perhaps be able to assist in linking up play between midfield and attack. He could assist in the way Olivier Giroud did in recent seasons, an area where the Blues have sometimes struggled this season.
2. Alexandre Lacazette
30-year-old forward Alexandre Lacazette who is likely on the verge of the final big move of his career, if Chelsea signs him might give them three and a half very good seasons they got out of Giroud. Giroud, if we recall was able to lift the Europa League and Champions League trophies during his time at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea should sign Alexandre Lacazette, and maybe they might be able to repeat the trick with another Arsenal forward.
if Alexandre Lacazette would be happy to not be at the top of Chelsea's pecking order, just like Giroud then he would an ideal suited player to fulfill the role Giroud did so well playing in Chelsea.
Providing a focal point in any Lukaku absence, Lacazette can hold onto the ball and provide a pressing threat.
